“our sense of smell changes”
It's been my observation that smells carry lasting effects to mood. Much like our taste in food changes as we grow older, our sense of smell also changes. Developing into more sophisticated bouquets. For example, I didn’t appreciated floral scents as much as I do now. The scent of rose reminds me of my grandmother’s rose garden. This floral delight brings me clarity when I’m feeling stuck.
“familiar smell of home”
I’m reminded of the familiar smell of home and the happy feeling the scents bring. Often stirring up wonderful memories. The kind of memories that send warmth to my heart and a smile on my face. The smell of pumpkin pie baking in the oven, makes me feel cozy and safe.It could be the fresh scent of lemonade that feels like home to you or the sweetness of vanilla. Scent has the power to bring our minds to a halt. Reminding you of long forgotten memories. Like those of hot summer days slipping and sliding down the lawn with all your friends from the neighborhood.
“delight the senses”
Our noses are a wonderful thing. Consider that without the different smells in the air and our ability to sense them we’d find it difficult to better detect the world around us. They help us find food, find peace and find a mate. The smell of dinner cooking tells us it’s almost time to eat. Sweetness in the air is comforting and the pheromones coming off a potential mate prolongs the love.
Aroma is powerful and unique toe very individual as it affects everyone in various ways to vast to mention here. Remember this if anything at all, enjoy the smells that this world has to offer. They delight the senses.
